Privacy policy

The short version: Forma stores your season and profile on your device only. There is no account, Forma server, analytics, or advertising. If you use the optional venue map, Apple Maps receives the map area and any place search you make so it can return map and venue results. Uninstalling the app deletes everything Forma holds.

What Forma stores

Everything you enter — competitions, entries, priorities, statuses, notes, and your profile (name, sports, home city) — is saved to a single JSON file inside the app's private storage on your device. This data:

Is not sent to Forma. Forma has no account or server. Your saved season is not uploaded. Venue names or coordinates you choose are stored in the same local file as the rest of the competition.
Is not backed up by Forma itself. If your device includes app data in its standard iCloud or iTunes/Finder backup, this file is backed up the same way any other app's local files are — that's Apple's device backup, not something Forma operates or has access to.
Is not used for tracking or advertising by Forma. There is no analytics SDK, crash reporter, or ad network in the app.

What Forma does not do

No account or sign-in. Forma doesn't know who you are beyond the name you optionally type into your own profile.
No device-location access. Forma never requests GPS or Location Services permission. You choose a home city, search for a venue, or place a pin on the map yourself.
No notifications. Forma does not schedule or send any local or push notifications in this version.
No tracking, no analytics, no advertising. There is no code in the app that measures usage, fingerprints the device, or serves ads.
No HealthKit or health data access in this version.

The bundled race catalogue

Forma ships with a bundled list of race events (city, series, sport, typical month) used only to help you fill in your own calendar faster. Adding one from the catalogue copies its details into your own local entry — Forma does not report back which events you looked at or added.

Apple Maps

The optional venue picker uses Apple Maps to display maps and search for places. When you open or use it, Apple may receive the visible map boundaries, search terms, places viewed, device/software information, language, and interactions needed to provide Maps. Forma does not request or send your live device location, and Forma does not receive Apple Maps usage data. Apple's handling of those requests is described in Apple Maps & Privacy. No analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or cloud-storage SDK is integrated into Forma.

Children's privacy

Forma is a general-audience sports planning tool and does not knowingly collect season or profile data from anyone, including children. Apple Maps requests are handled as described above.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of Forma adds sync, an account, or any other feature that changes what leaves your device, this policy will be updated first, and that update will describe exactly what changed and why.
